1. What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address. When you generate a lesson, we store the topic and teaching style you chose. When you make a purchase, Stripe handles payment processing — we never see or store your card details. We also collect basic usage data (pages visited, lessons generated) to improve the product.

2. How we use it

We use your information to generate your voice lessons, manage your credits, send account-related emails (receipts, password resets), and improve Narra. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Third-party services

Narra uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — authentication and database
• OpenAI — lesson generation
• ElevenLabs — text-to-speech voice generation
• Stripe — payment processing
• Vercel — hosting and delivery

Each service has its own privacy policy. Your content may be processed by these services to deliver Narra's features.

4. The “Hey Narra” browser extension

The Hey Narra browser extension lets you highlight text on any web page and get a tutor-style explanation. We've designed it to handle as little data as possible:

• What it sends: only the exact text you choose to highlight (or right-click to explain) is sent to our /api/explain endpoint to generate an explanation. Nothing is sent until you explicitly ask for an explanation.
• What it does not do: it does not read, monitor, or collect the pages you visit, your browsing history, form inputs, or any content you don't explicitly highlight. It contains no tracking or advertising code.
• Account & connection: the extension requires a Narra account. When you're signed in on heynarra.com, we store a single connection token in the extension so your highlights are tied to your account and draw on your Narra credits. The token identifies your account only — it grants no access to your browsing.
• Where data is stored: your most recent explanations are kept only in your browser's temporary session storage so the extension popup can show them. They are cleared when you close your browser and never leave your device except as the highlighted text described above.
• Processing: highlighted text is processed by OpenAI (see section 3) solely to produce your explanation, and is not used to train models or for advertising.

5. Data retention

Your account and lessons are stored until you delete your account. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us. We will remove your data within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use cookies only for authentication (to keep you logged in). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Children

Narra is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
